Who is Frank To Artist
Born in Glasgow 1982, Frank To graduated from the University of Huddersfield with BA (Hons) Fine Art. He went on to gain a Masters of Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone Art College. To works from his studio in Glasgow. To is already winning an enviable reputation for himself as a contemporary artist, having already established a loyal following, including a number of high profile buyers. One such buyer is Star Trek legend, Sir. Patrick Stewart who now owns several of Frank's paintings.
In recent years To has exhibited alongside some of the greats of the Scottish and international art scene such as Banksy and Damien Hirst. To is Co-President of the Society of Scottish Artists, elected member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art in London and art & design lecturer at UHI Inverness.

Statement of Practice
The medium is continuously applied on to the surface only to be annihilated at a later stage. Image and mark making are persistent for their dominance. Behind all this, form and representation are integrated with the disfigurement. This becomes beautiful. Due to this, the drawings blur the boundaries between the representation and the abstract. Using an entirely abstract exploration of explosives, time and space are navigated to reflect this paradox. The resulting effect is where the irrational of drawing becomes both melancholic and aesthetic.
